Mr & Mrs Lacey & their guide dog visit P2

Mr Lacey and Mrs Lacey visited P2 today with Juno Mr. Lacey's guide dog.

Mr Lacey told us what it is like to be blind and showed us many things he uses to help him.  He showed us his long red and white stick.  Some of us were allowed to use his stick.  Then we saw his dark glasses and 3 P2's tried a pair on.  Mr and Mrs Lacey also showed us his talking book, talking watch and his water level measurer for his cup.  <r Lacey explained how he eats his food, gets dressed, washed and goes for a walk.

We met Juno the Guide Dog and saw his special working harness.  We were allowed to pat Juno which was very exciting!  When Mrs Hutchinson was taking photos Juno put his head in her lap and she wanted to take him home.

We gave Mr Lacey a thank you present and a cheque for a massive £714.16 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind (collected over 2 years in school).
