Internet Safety Advice and Visit From PSNI
Children in our modern world have the opportunity to access technology at almost every opportunity. Without the appropriate safeguards in place it is almost impossible to effectively manage what children have access to online. Here at Victoria Primary School, we take a positive and proactive stance to e-safety and internet safety.
Recently, we have had to deal with a few issues in school in relation to ensuring that all our pupils are safe when online, especially at home. As part of our efforts to reinforce the message of being safe online the PSNI visited school today to speak with our P7 pupils about the importance of online safety and the possible negative outcomes if they are not.
The session delivered by the PSNI was fantastic and the children have all had time to think about their online habits.
Aside from today's visit, the Education Authority have issued some guidance to school, to pass on to parents, relating to a online game that is currently very popular with young people, however, has very little safeguards in place. Please take time to read the attached information.
