Great Praise From Our Parents and Carers

19th Jul 2017

100% OF OUR PUPILS FEEL SAFE AT SCHOOL!

At the end of the Summer Term our Parents / Carers had the opportunity to complete a questionnaire based on their experiences of our school.  This is an excellent way for us as a school to celebrate our successes and work on any highlighted areas in order to make our school even better than it already is.

As a school, we are delighted with the responses from our school community.  However, we are not complacent, and we will continue to work on a few areas that have been highlighted through this questionnaire.

Please find the outcome of our questionnaire below.  Also, I have included some of the positive comments provided by parents / carers and some of the action points we intend to work on.

Look out for our 'You said... We did...' information that will come home in the Autumn Term based on some of your comments.

Thanks again for your continued support.

Comments from our school community...

'We have only had positive experiences at VPS - happy children, happy parents.'

'Two of my children have been taught by Mrs Orr and both loved her.  She never changes.  She is gentle, unassuming, firm but fair and gets the best out of her pupils.  I can't speak highly enough of her.'

'I really love Victoria and I think it is a brilliant school.  I have recommended VPS to many parents!'

'We have been very happy so far.  Both our children have had excellent experiences from Nursery onwards.'

'I am very happy with my child's education at Victoria and feel she gets a good and varied experience throughout the year.

'My child really loves school.  She never wants to miss a day of school.  Since P1 to now (P6) she has had wonderful teachers who have made her school life so enjoyable.  Thank you so much.'

'Victoria PS has been the best school for our boys.  It pushes children academically whilst also acknowledging the child as an individual and developing their personalities.'

'I have found Victoria Primary School an excellent school.  Every member of staff is very helpful.  It was a good school when I attended 45 years ago and it still is!'

Some things for us to work on:

  • Review our after school activities for children across the whole school.
  • Provide appropriate information to parents based on the standard of homework we expect and we provide.  Also, provide parents with additional information on how to best support their children at home.
  • Review of behaviour policy and share this information with parents and children.
  • Develop further some aspects of our curriculum:  PE, Numeracy and PDMU
